Two home-grown Australasian intelligent analogue-addressable fire detection platforms: the Ampac FireFinder PLUS (an Australian Halma-group design running the open Apollo protocol) and the Pertronic F220 (New Zealand-made, successor to the F120A). Both are ActivFire-listed to the relevant Australian standards, so this is an unusually close, like-for-like comparison — the differences are real but nuanced.

Siemens Cerberus PRO and Ampac FireFinder PLUS are both widely used addressable fire detection platforms in Australia, but they suit slightly different project profiles. Siemens is positioned as a highly integrated, enterprise-grade ecosystem with strong networking, advanced detector intelligence and cloud connectivity; Ampac is a flexible Australian-market platform valued for serviceability, Apollo detector compatibility and suitability across commercial, industrial and multi-building sites.

The Notifier AFP-3030 and Simplex 4100ES are both large-scale, fully networkable intelligent fire alarm control panels for medium-to-large commercial buildings, high-rises and multi-building campuses. They come from different design philosophies: the AFP-3030 (Honeywell) is an open, distributor-driven platform built on the FlashScan protocol; the 4100ES (Johnson Controls) is a tightly integrated platform whose signature is IDNAC powered notification and TrueAlert ES self-testing appliances.

Two of the most widely specified intelligent analogue-addressable fire detection platforms in the Australian and New Zealand market: the Siemens Cerberus PRO modular range (FC72x panels on the C-NET bus) and the Pertronic F220 — Pertronic Industries’ flagship panel and successor to the long-serving F120A. Both are ActivFire-listed to the relevant Australian standards; they scale in different directions and differ most on detection technology and integrated occupant warning.
