Work in progress (WIP)

The value of work you’ve done but haven’t yet invoiced.

WIP is work completed but not yet billed — labour and materials sitting on jobs that haven’t been invoiced. It’s real value you’ve earned, but until it’s invoiced and paid it’s not cash. Tracking WIP stops earned revenue from slipping through the cracks.
