Award rate

The minimum legal pay rate for an employee, set by the relevant modern award.

Modern awards set minimum wages and conditions for employees by industry and classification. An award rate is a wage floor you pay staff — it’s not your charge-out rate to customers. Pay below the award and you risk underpayment claims.
