Accounts receivable

Money owed to you by customers for work already invoiced but not yet paid.

Accounts receivable (or “debtors”) is the total your customers owe you for invoices that haven’t been paid yet. High receivables tie up cash you’ve earned but can’t use, which is why tracking who owes what — and chasing it — is critical to cash flow.
