traqR vs FireMate

FireMate has been retired — here’s what to weigh up next.

FireMate was purpose-built in Australia for AS 1851-2012, and for years it was the software a lot of fire contractors ran on. Uptick acquired it in August 2023, and FireMate Desktop was retired on 1 December 2025, with support closing on 1 February 2026. Customers were migrated across to Uptick or offered a full export of their data. If you are weighing up where to land, traqR covers the same AS 1851 ground — routine-service schedules, fire asset registers, test reports, defect rectification and AFSS readiness — with quoting, invoicing and financial reporting in the same system, at a flat published price.

There is no current product to compare feature by feature, so this page covers what FireMate did well and what to look for in a replacement.

Purpose-built for AS 1851-2012 from the ground up, with the standard itself reachable inside the mobile app.

Deep Australian fire-industry knowledge, serving 200-plus contractors across Australia and the wider APAC region.

Why teams choose traqR

AS 1851 servicing you can move onto now

traqR ships the routine-service tables — monthly, six-monthly, yearly and five-yearly — raised automatically from the contract, with the right test report attached to each visit and defects captured straight into a quote.

A published price, not a quote

traqR publishes flat monthly tiers by team size from $99/month with every feature included, and a 14-day free trial with no credit card — so you can trial a replacement before committing to one.

More than the maintenance side

Alongside the fire asset register and AFSS readiness, traqR runs quoting, invoicing and payments, purchase orders, inventory, job costing, timesheets with GPS and a client portal for building owners — so a migration doesn’t leave you stitching several systems together.

traqR vs FireMate — FAQ

Is FireMate still available?

No. FireMate Desktop could not be accessed after 9pm AEDT on 1 December 2025, and FireMate Support closed on 1 February 2026. Uptick, which acquired FireMate in August 2023, moved customers onto its own platform.

What should FireMate users move to?

Uptick was the migration path offered by FireMate’s owner, and it is the deepest fire-specific platform in the market. traqR is worth a look if you also want quoting, invoicing, purchase orders and financial reporting in the same system, on published flat pricing with a free trial you can start yourself.

Can I still get my FireMate data out?

At the time of the retirement, Uptick’s support notes said a full CSV export — including attachments and images — could be requested, free of charge if you were migrating to Uptick, and that exports would remain available after the retirement date until the FireMate servers are shut down. Check with Uptick for the current position.
