RCTI (Recipient-created tax invoice)

A tax invoice raised by the buyer instead of the supplier, under an agreement.

An RCTI is a tax invoice the customer (recipient) issues on the supplier’s behalf, common where the customer calculates the value of work — like some subcontractor arrangements. Both parties must be GST-registered and have a written agreement in place.
